What Is Google?

For a long time people relied on volumes of encyclopaedia for all the information they needed. But the idea of an online encyclopaedia is not more than 35 years old. These online encyclopaedia is called a search engines.
A search engine is a program that searches the internet and finds web pages based on the keywords that you provide. Most popular of them is Google.
In 1995, Larry Page and Sergey brin agreed to write a program for a search engine. They build a server network using cheap,used and borrowed personal computers. And then it lead to the path to the creation of Google. But the attempt for licensing the product was a failure. Nobody wanted to take the risk of investing in an advanced product at an early stage of development.
Andy Bechtolsheim ,the co founder of sun microsystems appeared as a saviour. He was impressed by the quick demonstration of Google.
Google Inc. finally came into being in 1998.
Its mission is to organise the world's information and make it accessible to everyone.
